What is it like to be the threat of the society?
It's not a simple thing to say, or to be called that way. Being a threat to the structure that going be collapse, and especially when you be there and make sure it must collapse. It is the colossal perception that things will find their ways to flush and eliminate you. Now this is not a paranoid perspective or even an egoistic emotion. This is merely of what can and will happen. This post is the preemptive and prophetic observation of what going to happen the next day, next year, next decade and what will affect our generations.
But I embrace what will come to people like me. Because we stand for what is reality.
First and foremost, I'm an anarchist, a vet and a helper. Doing nothing while being one of those is already put me on the list, letting alone being all of those things. Let's rewind it and be more frank: I'm a devout anarchist and have serious skills and experience that have critical consequence to not just the establishment but the system. I was an ammunition technical officer in the war. I'm not going to talk of my past because I'm absolutely hated it, of what I did and what I carry. If you wish to learn more about my past, you are free to learn from my close friends on NG or other community.
As for being a helper, and why it could and will be a threat to the society. I'll summarize it. Being a helper has a lot of common with being in poverty. Being poor is a perk, being poor means you are more likely of giving a shit about the people next to you. Sympathy is for everyone. But the power of empathy only belong to the poor. Having the power of empathy means you will have to get down to other people's level and get them through the struggle. Being a helper is never unique to any single person. All poor people are capable of this. And the problem rises when helpers decided to come together and do something about the establishment.
That's how you got the working class, proletariat, lumpen and so on.
The sole existence of the proletariat, and futher to the unity of the proles, are the threats to the establisment and the entire system. The establishment as ironically as it seems, depended on the proles, but through exploitation and divide on the working class. Quintin Hogg, a robber baron and British MP once said: "If you don't give the people the reparations they will give you a revolution." So how do capitalists bait the working class with reparations? UBI, welfare, benefit and the most obscured but obvious of all: creating the new pseudo-class, the middle class. What's greater than dividing the working class than making them fight among themselves than some are little more well off than your fast food cashier or the homeless person sleep next to your office?
What does being an anarchist have anything to do with all these?
Unlike tankies (MLM) and other left tendencies, anarchists do not believe in the authority of the establishment to come and save the day. The end goal of anarchists is to gain complete abolishment of authority and hierarchy of any kind, with any mean possible. Whether that involve the direct actions of blocking a pipeline, or bombing the parliament, you name it. Anarchism is the greatest threat to any establishment and threat to the society of capitalism. The sole existence of anarchism is to bring total annihilation to the system. An anarchist's interest is in align with the interest of the working class.
Anarchism is at the same time, the cancer of old society, and the cure of new revolution.
It's the death sentence that each anarchist carry on themselves since the day of their acceptance in the tendencies. That the old society can and will round them to some camp and murder in the night. But we ain't going to let that happen, to ourselves or the people we protect. We are prepared for it. I am prepared to severe all my past for the new world.
As the nihilist anarchist Sergey Nechayev said:
The revolutionary is a doomed man. He has no private interests, no affairs, sentiments, ties, property nor even a name of his own. His entire being is devoured by one purpose, one thought, one passion - the revolution. Heart and soul, not merely by word but by deed, he has severed every link with the social order and with the entire civilized world; with the laws, good manners, conventions, and morality of that world. He is its merciless enemy and continues to inhabit it with only one purpose - to destroy it.
There are many kinds of anarchists. Syndicalists who change the society through workplace organizing. Communists who aim for total abolishment of market and money. Mutualists who free the market and collectivize properties. Greens who want total animal liberation. Queer and trans anarchist for LGBTQ intersectionalism. Feminists who for woman liberation. Egoists who liberate their own thoughts and minds.
As for me, I'm a platformist. Platformists believe in the act of carrying out praxis and unification of theories, tendencies and organizing tactics. Platformism is the most powerful tendency that embraced by millions people of color worldwide. Neverless, anarchists unify under the banner of anti-racism, anti-fascism, anti-hierarchy, anti-colonialism and anti-capitalism.
This news post is merely a small and simplified summary of the struggle. Now you know what is it like to be the threat of this society. And what an anarchist, a vet and a prole could do when time comes.
It's strange, coming this far to realize that all those you call friends, all those merits you have gained and all the things you have created... All of them will come to the end the moment you completely embrace the power of anarchy.
You are no longer chained to the illusion. You are free to observe and partake in the reality.
To end this post, I'll share a quote that is synonymous with Nechayev's quote, coming from a favorite anti-capitalism movie:
The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.
